Overachievers in the House of Lawsin

 Los Angeles — Darren Criss, 31, became the first Filipino-American to win an Emmy in the Primetime Lead Actor category in the recently concluded 70th Primetime Emmy Awards held at the Microsoft Theater in downtown Los Angeles.


DARREN CRISS - winning the 2018 Emmy Award for Best Actor in a Limited Series or Movie for his outstanding Leading Role in “The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story”. He beat out A-List fellow nominees John Legend (Jesus Christ Superstar Live In Concert), Antonio Banderas (Genius: Picasso), Benedict Cumberbatch (Patrick Melrose), Jeff Daniels (The Looming Tower), and Jesse Plemons (Black Mirror, USS Callister).

 
Leyte, Philippines — PAULINA LAWSIN- elected by the members of the Regional Development Council in Region VIII to become the Co-Chairperson. RDC is the highest policy and decision making body in the region. Was elected twice , first as Co-chair of Leyte Governor Remedios Petilla and then again as Co Chair of So. Leyte Gov. Rosette Lerias. The Chairs and Co-Chairs are appointed by the President of the Philippines.


ESPN, USA — LANCE LAWSIN - a world class teakwando black belter.  His aim in life is: "I want my ATA Legacy to be one where my martial arts skills builds my confidence to do anything I want to in life AND where I’m an inspiration for kids that they could accomplish anything they want to in life." He is from Huntersville, North Carolina. The son of Ro Lawsin.



Manila, Philippines — AOUIE  LAWSIN - co-author of a published book in Physics. His book has been distributed and utilized by high school and college students all over the country - from Luzon, Visaya, and Mindanao. He also penned other self-published books in philosophy, theology, science, and technology which are now distributed in the US and worldwide.
