The First Generation

The theory as to the origin of the name LAWSIN is believed to be of Chinese and Spanish descent. The name is a variant of the lastname Lausin.. However, Don Pablo Acuin Lawsin, who was Justice of the Peace at his time, legally converted the surname LAUSIN to LAWSIN. This conversion was authentically unfolded by Chief Engineer Vincent (Titing) Lawsín and Ramon Lawšin Jr, (Ramy) who both claimed that LAWSIN was actually spelled LAUSIN before. Even to these days, there are still some relatives, specifically from Don Gregorio Balida Lausin lineage, who opt for the lastname Lausin instead of Lawsin.
